Operator, Please.

The Teenagers remix of For My Two Seconds By Operator Please

Operator Please - Just A Song About A Ping Pong (Kissy Sell Out Remix)

Jenny Wilson - Let My Shoes Lead Me Forward (The Knife Remix)

Maps - You Don't Know Her Name

Today I heard possibly the first ever compilation album that I might consider buying. Well, I won't buy it but you know what I mean - Future Pop is one of those compilation CD's that actually has some decent music on it. And that is what has been getting me through my terribly boring task of writing my dissertation.
So thanks.

Purely for Charlie's Sake...

An overdue update... I have been slightly busy recently with friends being back for Easter etc etc blah blah. Just excuses really.
But here we go:

I love Dunproofin', the remixes are always fantastic. Particularly this:

Standing In the Way Of Felix
And this: We Want Your Acid

Can't stop listening to this Stonebridge remix of Sia's The Girl You Lost which is very very good, especially if you are driving.. it doesn't even get boring on repeat.

I'm suggesting (or recommending) a couple of artists to have a listen to:
Rochelle, really hard to download any music for them.. but if you *maybe* have options to download music off myspace then I suggest you do that, nice electro/Indie/Pop. "They are roughly what New Order might have sounded like had Gillian Gilbert, not Bernard Sumner, stepped up to the mic in the terrible aftermath of Ian Curtis' suicide."
And again, hard to get hold of their stuff unless you go to the iTunes store, or maybe use that myspace downloading tool that I have only heard about.. Coconut Records who are fronted by Jason Schwartzman of films such as Rushmore and I ♥ Huckabees, from LA
Here is Nighttiming by Coconut Records

Also, worth checking out are Electric Valentine and Ultraviolet Sound who are also both from LA and nice and dirty electro-pop punk bands.

The Shoes

I like this. A lot. Yet another French group..

The Shoes - Knock Out (80s Kidz Remix)

Thanks to Pinglewood

(Late) Monday Fun

So after a pretty hectic weekend... here are some fun things to kick off your week:

Played by a top-DJ-friend at Eurotrash this weekend, this got me a bit over-excited:
Wannabe - Spice Girls (The Touch Remix)

Pete Tong's Essential song of the week and quite rightly so:
Something New (Galactic Remix) - The Black Ghosts vs. Lindstrom

Annie Mac played this massive collaboration last week (excuse her talking briefly):
Soulwax vs. Justice - Disco Sirens

These Boots Were Made for Walking - DJ Metric

Can't get enough of Hercules and Love Affair.. particularly Blind which is sure to be huge. They are all over the press so we shall see. Sam Sparro seems to be on the rise (as predicted uh-huh!) and on every radio station and music channel well, everywhere. Gnarls Berkley's new album is also bound to be rather good, the first single Run is good, not sure about the others yet haven't listened enough. But I will.

PrettyMuchAmazing has posted lots and lots of delightful Soulwax remixes for your listening delight. Nothing new here just some favourites.

The new Ministry Of Sound Mash Up Mix 2008 is seriously, seriously fun. So go, download it, or even buy it.

Thanks to POS, TheseRocksPop

Oooo Hark at eee BOY.

Aretha Franklin & The Rolling Stones - A Deeper Love (Chew Fu & Steve Clisby Vocal mix)

The Wombats - Kill The Director (CSS remix)

The Wombats - Moving To New York (The Touch Remix)

Also, getting quite excited about the line up at SummerCase in Barcelona 2008. The Sex Pistols?! Awesome.
